Summer Ends, Football Begins

Bengals fans (myself included) rejoiced on Sunday after getting our first season-opener win on Sunday against Clevo. All I've heard Cleveland fans talk about is some questionable officiating so far. Which I will agree - on one of those calls - was most likely bullshit. But you have to admit they should've got it done regardless. The one thing I'm really confused about is why after gaining 78 yards they decided that Droughns wasn't running anymore. This is the Bengals we are talking about. Have you seen them defend the run in the last 14 years? No. Run the ball against the Bengals, please. Drougns looked good, and so did Dilfer. He just made some key mistakes and Odell Thurman and Deltha O'neal made him pay for it. Speaking of which, how good did Thurman look starting his rookie year with a pick and 7 tackles. Ray Lewis he is not, but he is the type of player the Bengals need. Looking forward to seeing more of him (mch). Also, Frisman Jackson really stepped up with 8 catches for 128 yards and a TD. He was frustrating me out, believe. Palmer, apart from his sloppy "rookie" interception, is looking good .. good completion %. Rudi Johnson, as always, keeping it solid and wrapping up the game. Had a littttle scare with Chad Johnson's cramping in the first quarter. I really don't want to see him getting hurt.

In other news, I was real happy to see the Saints start out with a inspired divisional win against Carolina. Brooks hooking up with Horn then Carney sealing it off with 3 seconds left.

I know their biggest fan, my ex-roomie/new-orleanean Chuck (who hopefully got to see the game somewhere in the Army) feels great about that. Also, considering how poorly the Saints play in the Superdome (from what I've seen and what Chuck has said) a season on the road might have playoff implications. I would love to see an A'ints/Bungles Super Bowl. Also, I'd like to thank John Gruden for fucking up my picks this week.

because i work on weekends i get the privelege to watch football games via the espn.com gamecast, which honestly over the last 3 years (they used to have the live radio broadcasts streamed until the nfl realized that they could charge people for that. assholes)has progressively yet really slowly gotten better. but i miss out on commentary and shit because im basically just reading stats and looking at 1 line descriptions of every down. "1st and 10 on CLE 34, Droughns 3 yard rush". so when i suddenly see that his yardage has suddenly slowed, i think he died or something on the field. i dont know where im going with this, but in terms of officiating that can only go so far. at the same time, the same can be said for the old "well you shouldve been scoring regardless" counter argument. well duh. but yes ben, you got this win, and i think you get to shit on mark's face. i also noticed that chad johnson's iced out mouthpiece has been upgraded to actually resemble a grill as opposed to his weird dull gold one that he had last year. or maybe i was just half awake. 3am sports center man, gotta love it.

yeah game was depressing, browns were indeed garbage. i used to work weekends too and i feel your espn.com gametrack pain, it's really horrible to follow football that way. johnson's grille was new and done up and enjoyed by all. what a horrible weekend for sports.

there was a picture of Thurman and Jackson at the top and Haslett by the Saints, but apparently LA had a power outage of sorts, so my server is kaput ... In all honesty, if I was a Browns fan, I would be so happy that the team looks the way it does right now. Crenel et al did an amazing job ... If not this year, I definitely see them as playoff material next year if they keep working with it.

thats true, and we knew they were gonna be bad, but we're just tired of mediocrity. romeo is that dude, and he WILL handle business but a win at home against a division rival is pretty much what i needed after saturday night.

What is mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a rare disease caused as a result of malignant cancerous cells lining the patient's body cavities such as chest, abdominal region or the area surrounding the heart.Your legal rights:

Corporations that manufacture asbestos products have known about the dangers of asbestos-related diseases for more than six decades. In an effort to increase profit, they kept this information quiet, putting workers and families at risk.

Working with asbestos causes serious diseases. Unfortunately, many corporations thought they would be able to cut corners and make a large profit at the expense of endangering workers. Fortunately, there are laws that help to protect those individuals that have been harmed by exposure to asbestos-related products.

Spread the information and help as many as possible.
Thanks
