Whack Rappers (2004)

Now I'm not a big Afroman fan (though I honestly still chuckle a little bit everytime I hear "Because I Got High" because its that ridiculous) but I was surprised to learn the other day that Afroman had released a diss song...on everyone. After a little searching on Google, I learned that not only is this song two years old, but it was followed up with a "Whack Rappers II". Both of these songs appeared on "Afroholic...The Even Better Times", a 2 disc album that was one of three, count em three, albums he released in 2004. Whether or not this was Afroman's "How To Rob", I'm not too sure, but if it was, I would have considered it a failure in that I don't recall hearing too many diss songs on Afroman.
I'll be honest, the first installment is pretty funny. Kind of odd because you'll notice that a lot of the people he spends the most time hating on are women (he really hates...Kelis). The second version has Afroman getting serious about MTV and corporate radio.
Youre just gonna have to listen to these for yourself.

Afroman - "Whack Rappers II"

And it's official: Waster Wednesday has joined forces with the Supposed To Bubble/FYL boys. Dudes Night Out is taking it to a whole new level.
If you're in the Cleveland area next weekend, come out to BSide and see what happens...

It just be like that sometimes.

When I go to the club I get...

4-Ize - Ron Artest

Young Ron Ron, Queensbridge's finest, Mr. Artest is at it once again. After we've all been sitting on the edge of our collective seats for the last month waiting to see who win the Ron lottery (err death sentence) and today it seemed there was an answer. The Maggette deal had obviously fallen through a while back even tho Ron seemed excited for LA, and I started to think maybe nothing would happen. But then this afternoon I catch a newsbreak that Artest for Peja is a done deal and Artest is now a King. I turn on the Cavs game tonight against the Pacers waiting for the official announcement. Unfortunately the announcement went something like this:

Ron Artest's agent: Ron, the deal is done. You got traded to the Kings.
Ron Artest: No I didn't.
Agent: What?
RA: Fuck that shit.

And apparently the Kings quickly voiced their agreement with Artest's last statement.

And that makes this song relevant again about a year later. When life hands you lemons, get Ron Artest.

80 Cent - Stunt 101/INXS

From the dude who brought you the Mobb Deep/Bob Marley collabo, this what he has now blessed us with. 50 cent over all your 80's favorites. Definately worth a laugh for all you dudes who are tired of hearing that Nine Inch Nails/50 cent mash up still being played out.

In a Cleveland rap mentionable props to Ray Cash for holding down Cleveland and shooting his $200,000.00 video for his new single right here on the East Side. You know some hollywood/record labels aren't happy about that. Also props to Layzie Bone for showing up and hanging out during the shoot and to Ray Cash for spending 200k on a video. Who is signing these checks?

Waster Wednesdays @ BSide tonight.

Nights like this...

Juelz Santana - Rain Drops

Happy 2006. I was just sitting outside my apartment listening to the steady drops of rain falling on the pavement. And when you live in Cleveland and it's January and you see precipitation that isn't snow falling, well, you just gotta smile. Which led me to think about the good times. All the disappointment this year with the new Juelz and thinking back to a simpler time for human crack in the flesh. No dope talk, just smooth basslines and retardation. But I dare you to listen to this and not smile. For real.

Also check out that Lemon-Red for the exclusive new Bonde Do Role which is the new baile funk whatever jumpoff brought to you by Diplo. Can't get enough of this and I will declare it the first new fun thing I've heard in 06. Looking forward to more of that.

And MO....did it have to come to this man?
I remember reading an article about Clarett the night before his first game starting his freshman year at OSU. He was too nervous to sleep so he stayed up all night listening to the new Lil' Flip. From that point on I knew that we'd get an interesting story from this guy over the next few years but even I couldn't have imagined all this. I also remember Roger Brown mentioning after his freshman year seeing Mo and crew hanging out in Vegas all wearing #13 OSU jerseys with BLACKLISTED taped over his name. Looks like this is the end for all the fun drama....but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
